Microwave timer going too fast

I was changing the time on my Whirlpool microwave's digital display and ever since then the cook time clicks off at double or triple speed. Is there a way to fix this?

Re: Microwave timer going too fast

I had the same problem and found that the "demo mode" had been enabled. Turned it off and everything worked fine.

Re: Microwave timer going too fast

The first thing to do it to unplug it for several minutes then plug it back in and try again. (Hard reset)

If the problem persists, it could indicate trouble with the microporcessor.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

Re: Microwave timer going too fast

My Amana microwave oven timer timed out about 6x faster than it should and the oven would not heat. I unplugged the oven from the AC line and replugged it in the next morning, and it went back to normal working order.

My microwave stopped working you can input time but when you push start nothing happens it has power and everything just will not start its like the start button does not work

Possibly a bad door switch behind the holes where the latch hooks go into. Usually with the bad switch the timer counts down but nothing runs. It all depends on which switch is bad. Usually 3 switches inside.

Occassionally (about 5% of the time) the microwave continues to cook and buzz after the timer has run out and the fan stops running.

sounds like the program bord is faulty,, when your finished cooking leave the door open a little that will save the microwave from trying to cook nothing?

Whirlpool Roper Microwave MHE14XMB turntable stops turning

Hello :

The turntable has a separate motor under the unit(inside) that is quite small..... They just do go out from time to time..!!!!! Just remember to set the timer for shorter periods of time on items that require long cook times and turn it around the other way . Repairing is a bit expensive . You can ask first .

good luck .

please rate .

Even though timer starts the microwave doesn't start cooking

read this post
magnetron: W10131681
HV capacitor: 815124
HV diode: W10201950
HV transformer: 8171873

Of note: generic parts are cheaper and will work as well.

Timer runs fast, plus no heat Maytag MMV1153BAW

No... you are not in a microwave induced time warp...
Your microwave oven needs a "reboot". The same thing happened to me.
Unplug your microwave oven, wait about a minute (more or less), plug it back in. Try setting/running your kitchen timer, boil water, etc. Your timer software on the microwave should be reset.
