Washer won't restart or reset

We reset the (Kenmore front-loading) machine to the drain/spin cycle because my son hadaccidentally started it on ''hot'' with colored clothes, and the machinedidn't drain and has just stopped. It won't start again on any cycle,won't reset, the door won't lock, nothing. After we left it alone forabout 20 minutes, all the lights went off and I tried it again, and thesame thing happened. I tried unplugging it for about 5 minutes, andthat also didn't help.
