Our microwave went dead. It's only three years old. My husband put some chicken wings in, closed the door, and everything went black. We plugged in a nightlight in the power source and it worked. Any ideas why the microwave stopped working?

a few possible causes,
1, the high voltage fuse,
2, the high voltage capacitor
3, the slow blow fuse ( normally found on a small pcb inside unit)

other than that, check the door switches and maybe the x former.
