Gamer points low and no avatar picture when online

when i am playing online on fifa 09 on xbox360 i notice some people have a little face or avatar next to there name and very high game points yet they havent played that many games and i kick there a55 how do i get the picture for myself and what is the easiest way to get my gamer points up cos i am really good at the game but my gamer score is only 7923 and i beat a guy the other day who was 279635 how is this
