We reset the machine to

We reset the machine to the drain/spin cycle because my son had accidentally started it on "hot" with colored clothes, and the machine didn't drain and has just stopped. It won't start again on any cycle, won't reset, the door won't lock, nothing. After we left it alone for about 20 minutes, all the lights went off and I tried it again, and the same thing happened. I tried unplugging it for about 5 minutes, and that also didn't help.
