Question about GE GDS20SBS Stainless Steel Bottom Freezer Refrigerator
Due to water issues, we turned off the water to the icemaker 6 months or so. The icemaker switch is in the off position as well as the water feed to the icemaker. We are now having a periodic cycling noise coming from the middle/back(on the side behind a access panel) of the fridge. It sounds like some mechanical type cycle that goes over and over and the lights flash inside the fridge (or dim down) when the noise happens. Sometimes the noise will clear, but it seems to be staying for longer periods of time now. The fridge is two years old.

SOURCE: Defrosting of freezer periodically
You could have a problem with the defrost heater or it could be a problem with the control board. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: My GE profile refrigerator makes a fan noise
Hello my name is Tim Ehrhart, it sounds like you may have a wire that is hitting the fan blade wich can be seriouse as if it shorts out it could catch fire. A trick to fix this is to take off the cover and make sure the fan is clear or all wires and everything else, if there are wires either tape them back, hot glue them or redirect them away from the fan. I hope this helps you out.

SOURCE: My GE Profile fridge periodically (eve other n) leaks water
Thaw out the defrost drain in the freezer. It has frozen over and the defrost water has nowhere else to go except on your floor.

refregerator making noise
I own GE GSH25JFRFWW fridge. It is about 3 Yrs old now and started giving some hissing/machine noise like a motor/rotor spinning faster/harder behind the freezer ice rack on top left side of the fridge. It come and goes but quite frequently (every 10 or 15 minutes). I have my freezer level (1 being lowest and 9 being coldest) as level 1 and still hear the noise. When I turn the freezer level to 0 the noise stops basically because it is like turning OFF the freezer section I believe. It would be great if someone can provide a solution for this/similar issue.
