Everyone - this happens to EVERY LT30Hv, and is fixable despite what the **** idiots at Syntax. They are not a TV manufacturing company, they are an import/export holding company with a freaking LOUSY website. This is the part you most likely need. If you can work on a computer, you can probably fix this yourself. I'm helping everyone I can help with this to shove it down Syntax's throat. I am in the midst of performing and documenting my second repair of this same procedure, and will post on Flickr when I can get it up.

Picture in picture operation & connection to dvd player

Now--first--connect the DVR cable box HDMI output to the HDTV HDMI input (use the lowest numbered one e.g. HDMI 1) for this connection. Use a standard (not Monster brand) HDMI cable for this connection. Then turn on the TV, turn on the cable box and switch the TV to the HDMI input. A picture should come on. You may even hear the audio on the TV speakers. If so, that is OK.

Then--connect the component video output of the DVD HT to the TV component 1 input. Use a three wire component video cable with red, blue and green connectors on each end. Connect color to color on both ends. Then turn on the DVD, put a DVD in the player and start it running. Switch the TV to the component input and it should show a pix. The audio will come from the DVD player speakers.

If your DVD player does have an HDMI output, you can use it and just connect as above to the second TV HDMI input.

To get audio from the cable box out of the DVD player speakers, you will need to connect an audio cable from the cable box go the HT amplifier. Use a set of RCA patch cables and go from the analog audio output of the cable box to the rear panel audio inputs of the DVD player. The owners manual for this unit will give directions on using this input. Since your HT unit does not have any other inputs, you will not be able to get Dolby Digital audio.

Hope this gives you food for thought. If so, and you have more questions, just come back in with a follow up.

Good luck. Remember, the owners manuals all have hook up connections diagrams. Sometimes they will help.

Turn on tv have sound and picture then screen turns blue no picture but have sound

Blue screens are a strong hint that your tv isn't picking up an image. Check to see if you have a firm connection on both your tv and your input device (cable box/ dvd player). You may want to disconnect and reconnect fully. Also attempt selecting other inputs. If you only have trouble with that one input, then you have a loose internal connection. Also make sure that your TV can display an image by trying to use the on screen controls.

I have a samsung2333hd and want to connect a dvd player using the connections marked pr(red) pb(blue) y (green) when i connect them all i get a redish pink screen then when i connect two of them i get...

OK no problem here. I can help. First reconnect the DVD Player to the tv using the Compoment cables. Match Green to Green,Red to Red and Blue to Blue.. If this is done correctly then you will have normal looking picture. If the picture looks like it is missing the RED color then switch both Red cables. The pix should look normal. Then connect the RED and White audio cables to the audio inputs . Now the Pinkish color is a result of the DVD Player not being set to the "Progressive" setting in the DVD Player Menu. It will help to connect a set of COMPOSITE cables from the DVD Player to the TV's Composite Input. Those are the Yellow,Red and White inputs on both the tv and the DVD Player. This will allow you to see the DVD player menu in case you cannot see the menu while in the Component input. The Pinkish picture should go to a Normal picture.

No owners manual can't get new blue ray dvd player to work on tv

Here is the manual:

When using the HDMI connections you may have to tell the DVD to output to that port.  Also you may have to connect additional sound cables from the DVD output to the TV.

No Picture on HDMI using Philips DVP5992.

You can try out by connecting the CVBS (Yello) out from player to TV and connect HDMI out from Player to TV. Goto CVBS input on Sony TV. Select set up and you should get the HDMI Video options availble. Try to change the resulution and check for Video on HDMI source.
Which disc you were playing PAL or NTSC? PAL should work for Europe.

I am trying to connect an akai dvd player to directv, please help

good day. to connect your any DVD player to any TV screen always remember this color code

from DVD back part:

yellow = video out

red/blue/green( in a row) = component video out ( this can only be used for screen with component video inputs)

Black = digital audio ( rarely use unless)
Red and white (in a row) = Audio output (left and right audio)

where to connect from TV screen.

Locate where A/V INPUTS (audio/video socket) from your TV screen, you can see it either at the BACK/SIDE or somtimes in FRONT of TV screen , having marked as "AV1"AV2"AV3' .

Once you found TV input, you must first have RCA cable (color code cable to connect player to screen) then connect the RCA cable at the back of your DVD player, simply follow color code

RCA yellow marked cable = DVD yellow socket
RCA RED and WHITE marked cable = DVD RED and white socket (second row for your player)

then connect the other end of the RCA cable to TV screen, first select which input where you gonna place the DVD player ( either AV1, Av2 or Av3 if do have multiple inputs)

once decided which INPUT to connect the player.
ex. if you select AV1 as input there would be 3socket on its row (yellow/red/white)

now connect the other end of RCA cable to the screen by following the same color code:

RCA yellow cable = TV screen A/V1 input yellow socket
RCA RED and White = TV screen A/V1 input red and white socket.

Toshiba Model 42HM66 DLP Projection TV

I strongly doubt it's the lamp assy since you can actually see the blue screen. If the lamp failed, you would not see anything on the screen. This blue screen indicates to me that either the tuner is no longer decoding the signal, in improper input has been selected (ie: input 1 is selected while actual signal is on composite 1), or something of that nature. If you are getting audio then the input is selected properly but the video decoder has failed.

If your cable signal is going through a VCR or DVD, disconnect it from there and go directly to the TV (ie: bypass the VCR/DVD). If your picture comes back, there's some kind of problem with your VCR/DVD player.

If you have multiple inputs, try connecting an input signal to another input (ie: video 1, or aux from a dvd player) and see if you get a picture there. If you do get a picture, the whatever input you're currently using has malfunctioned.
