Dells 5150's are a problem and If they installed a 2.4 on this model theres a warpage issue usually.. (Dont ask).. Its complicated to say the least... Run on the 2.4 and reinstall the video driver for the actual unit.. (Did you ever see a "This unit does not support this CPU and may run" Blah, blah, blah. error on Boot ?? Thats why.. Good luck!

I am trying to upgrade my PE650 from a Celeron CPU to a P4 2.8GHz. Once I change the CPU the server will not run the BIOS. I just get a blank screen with all the fans running. Do I need to reset the...

First of all, open your case with the power unplugged and check to make sure you plugged in every part of the motherboard to the power supply. Look for white plugs.

If that doesn't work, try this:

1. Go to this website and scroll down to Figure 5-2.

2. While the computer is off and unplugged, use the picture as a reference and move the jumper on your motherboard to NVRAM_CLR.

3. Plug in your computer and boot it up. Wait at least 15 seconds then turn off the computer and unplug it.

4. Change the Jumper back to it's original position on the motherboard.

5. Plug in the computer and run the BIOS

Thanks, Rodrick

Need a reboot disk

Does it have a Microsoft sticker on the case giving you a serial number and product type: 2000, XP Home , XP Pro etc

If it has one then you need to find a buddy with a copy of that software and hope that it is compatible with the version you have on your system.

If not then it is off to the shop for a fresh copy

It sounds like the motherboard is damaged. Did you try to start with a boot cd? Or will it just not get to the bios setup screen?

Asus P4T-M version 1.05 Not Posting?

Hi ed, that 4-Pin ATX_12 connector near the CPU is for powering the CPU. Suggest you change PSU's. Though I'd agree there are some boards that have the 4-Pin connector & it's not used. Those boards usually have a 24 pin main connector & lower voltage CPU's Please check here at Asus web site for P4T-M.

Related FAQ's P4T-M

I'm sure your P4T-M will boot after connecting the ATXPWR, ATX12V. As you noted, it would be nice if you could test the memory. When you get display you can test your memory for free by downloading a mem test program at.

Enjoy the weekend Ed.

If you replace with the same motherboard that's in already, that would be easiest for you.

But if you use a different one, you'll have to re-activate Windows, and download and install new device drivers.

Can't charge battery or run off AC

You may have a problem in the DC charge circuitry. These parts are located on the moatherboard directly and can't be bought separately and repaired. You must send your Dell to a specialised service to have it fixed by them. Sorry, I can't see no other way for this problem to be solved.
