SOURCE: Ice maker has ice in it but will not dump in bin!

before i would worry about the lights flashing lets pull the front cover off of the icemaker and verify that the drive gear is not broken.

on the bottom of the icemaker is 1 screw. remove that screw then just slide the entire icemaker out of the refrig so that you can access the front cover. if the gear is broken just replace the front motor module pt# 8201515

if the gear is fine then located in the toe grille of your refrig is a tech sheet that will help you troubleshoot red light blinking.

SOURCE: Kenmore bottom freezer 795.75092402 freezer doesn't open

After several hours working and moving the door, I was able to slide open the door. Found out that the ice maker was leaking and the water was in the bottom an it frozen and that was stopping the door to open.

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite ice maker is not working & red light is blinking

Most likely a problem with the main ice making unit itself. I bought mine at ebay for $49 including shipping. Very simple to replace. You just swap the wiring harness and bottom plate. Takes about 20 minutes to do.
Make sure you do the IR led test. If you think you IR sender and receiver are bad to, $57 on ebay for the set. Most likely not your water solenoid in the lower back of frig (it gets the signal to turn on from the receiver module of the IR board.
Probably not your water filter (cuz the front water dispenser still probably works right?)
And probably not a clogged or frozen line.
Good luck. When it doubt, trust ebay!

SOURCE: Kenmore 106.56542400 No ice, red lite blinking

Many people claim that raising the freezer temperature and using a hair dryer to defrost the ice maker will solve the problem. As for the blinking light I believe that is part of the ice maker sensor to tell if ice storage is full or not. Here is a link to the troubleshooting forum. Thanks, Sea Breeze

My genie garage dooropener is blinking red on the opener motor. It is suppose to be blue.

1. If both round and long LED's are blinking, unplug the opener motor for five seconds, and replug. If the lights go back to normal, it was just a program error. If they both continue to blink, it's probably not user-serviceable.
2. If the round LED is blinking and the long LED is off, it is usually the door sensors that are obstructed or knocked out of line.
3. If the Long LED is blinking and the round LED is off, it is usually a bad roller or hinge that won't let the door move freely, something stuck in a track or a bent track.

In my freezer, there is a blinking red light next to the icemaker on-off switch. What is it and why is it blinking?

It might be blinking because it hasn't been able to reach the required temperature or the temperature you have set. Probably leaving it close for one or two days, the light will go off, if not, you might consider changing the plastic isolation of the door, you know, the plastic thing that you see goes around the freezer door, best luck.

Ice maker will not make ice. Red light blinks

I have a kitchenaid with the same problem. Red light blinks twice when open is normal. Hold the flap down and the red light will be on.= normal= optics are working. If the ice rakes rotate, module is probably fine. Check the simplest solutions first, defrost the freezer in case the icemaker water nozzel might be frozen. That solved my problem. I then increased my freezer temp by a couple of degrees and so far, no problems.
Good luck.

Blinking light in refrigerator

I think that's the light letting you know the door is open so it won't drop ice. When I held in the catch on the left side (as if the door was closed) the red light went off for me.

Last check on Whirlpool icemaker

No, when you open the freezer door the right side light will flash 2 times with a pause repeatedly. Then when you hold the left side flapper down it will stay lit. In other words, it will be on steady. You do not have to have the door switch closed. Catriver.

Optical sensor or valve problem

Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. The ice maker sensor passes a beam from one freezer wall to the other, automatically stopping ice production when the storage bin is full. When you open the freezer door, you should see a red light on the top right freezer wall. When the freezer door is open or the ice storage bin is removed, the sensor cover or "flipper door" on the left wall of the freezer stops the ice maker from producing ice by blocking this sensor, When the beam is blocked, the red light on the right will blink twice. This is normal operation. as for the blink twice and pause I'm still checking on that. Make sure the water flow is coming from the solenoid valve located on back and bottom of refrigerator to the ice maker. Check the solenoid to see if the magnetic field is pulling the internal plunger open when ice maker ask for water. That can be checked with a multi meter at the wireing going to the solenoid and if the ice optics are telling the tray to fill voltage should be present. Insure that water supply is not restricted before it comes to the solenoid , like a bent line or clogged piercing valve.  Check that an ice cube is not jammed in the ejector arm of the ice maker. Remove jammed ice from the ejector arm using only a plastic utensil so the ice maker is not damaged. Call toll free in USA and a trained consultant will be happy to assist you. 1-866-698-2538

Ice maker not making ice and red light on the inside is blinking

Answer provided to me, by KitchenAid customer service: "Thank you for taking the time to write with your inquiry and concern regarding your appliance Your emails are extremely important to us and would like to apologize for any delays in responding to them. We are working diligently to replying to all of our customers. The blinking red light that you reported is normal. Your refrigerator uses an infrared beam of light to detect the level of the ice in your ice bin. Because this beam is not visible to the naked eye, a red LED light will blink every time the refrigerator checks the ice level. This may happen when the door is opened, but it is merely an indicator that it is functioning properly. If you have any other questions or concerns about your KitchenAid appliances, please don't hesitate to let us know. You can reach us by replying to this message, or by calling us toll-free at 1-800-422-1230."
