How to unlock the iPod Touch, if you forget the password
<p>The screen lock is available on the iPod Touch, as well as recent models of the iPod and iPod Nano, giving you a 4-digit password to set the screen. This is to prevent others from using your iPod, but it is not a safety device impregnable. If you forget the password, you can quickly and easily unlock the iPod by connecting it to the computer you normally use to sync your iPod with iTunes. You can then open the iPod and reset the lock to a more memorable password. <br /> <p><br /> <p>1. Connect the iPod Touch to your computer via the USB cable. <br /> <p><br /> <p>2. Wait for iTunes to access and synchronize with your computer. <br /> <p><br /> <p>3. Take your iPod Touch from your computer, clicking on the "Eject" to the input side of the iPod under "Devices" in iTunes. <br /> <p><br /> <p>4. Disconnect the iPod Touch from the USB cable. Ipod locked need code

There are basically three ways to unlock the Screen Lock on your iPod:

  1. The most obvious and will not work for most people (or else you wouldn't be visiting this web site). Simply enter the 4 digit combination/pass code at Extras > Screen Lock.
  2. Connect your iPod to the first computer it was synced with or the computer set as the primary one in iTunes. Open the iTunes application, then disconnect your iPod from the computer, and it should no longer be locked.
  3. Use this final way only if the first two options do not work for you because it is a destructive process.

    Everything on your iPod will be erased.

    This should not be a problem if you have all of your songs, videos, and other media stored in iTunes and you can synchronize once again after getting the iPod unlocked.
