The Canon Powershot S2 IS is sensitive to the type of AA battery used. Try alkaline batteries (they have to say "alkaline" on the side). I had the same problem, and switching to alkaline batteries fixed it for me.

chick the battery connector maybe encounter a small stain or ashes try use the small bluer into battery housing and apply san paper
