Question about Peavey CH1 Speaker

Peavey PV215 Speakers

Dear Sirs:

I own (2) Peavey PV215 speakers.

While DJ-ing last night, a light bulb was coming on & off inside the speakers during certain periods.

I was barely driveing the speakers, probably at 1/4 of their capacity.

I don't believe this is normal.

Please advise

Was gigging with peavey 112xt subs and hisys 6 rx sats, one side went very low and ive isolated the problem to one of the subs, i was using dynachord 1000 powermate and driving it pretty hard, have i blown...

To pjstokes.I have exactly the same set up as you and have experienced the same problem. So far I have Changed The Bulbs inside the tops and also replaced the thermal fuses on the soundguard circuits (which are inside the 6XT tops) but still have the problem. Only when the cabs are driven hard do they stop working, no problems at low volume. Peavey don't have a solution. I think maybe some of the other components have blown but I don't know which ones. If anyone knows a solution please post it here.

I've lost the screws that hold the speaker in the cabinet. I need to know the size of thread for replacements

Ahh, and impossible question to answer! Call Peavey and ask their tech support to mail you a new set, or two ( They probably will send them for free or for just the charge of shipping. If you are asking to match the thread on the screws, this will be be the best option for you to get a good night of sleep after reassembly; I know the feeling.

Peavey Horn Drivers (compression drivers)

Did you sort your problem? I need 2 also, but seems quite easy to get 4ohm but 8 ohm a little harder. The woofer in the cab is 4ohm, cabinet is rated 4ohm so wondering wether to replace th 8ohm horn with a 4ohm diaphram.
Any thoughts?

Peavey floor monitor speakers

you can bypass the volume controller and use the master control. just take out the volume controller and splice the wires from there straight to master control.

Peavey SP5

depends who assembled the speakers as to wheather or not there is any fuse proetection installed.
The drivers are probably gone from the highs because of overloading power surge on the same circuit as the cash register,
the crossover is failed.

Cheap fix is replace crossover
expensive fix replace cones of speaker

Best long term protection is to split up the power loading on the stage and surge/spike guard power boards for staging equipment & have resettable fuses installed at the crossobvers or the respective speaker connections.
