I have a similar problem, relatively new headphones I picked up second-hand, they work perfectly in most instances so didnt notice when I first bought them, though when I play my Digital Piano or playback recorded piano or Midi Piano instruments, basically anything that is the sound of a natural piano I get a buzz in the right headphone, only certain frequencies seem to cause it, but it is very irritating and not helpful when mixing... I am considering pulling them apart to get at whatever is causing it, though not sure how serviceable they are.

- OK maybe taking them to pieces isn't such a good idea, after disconnecting the ear piece and then reconnecting it I get nothing, I traced the buzz down to in the actual speaker itself but now I get no sound from it at all, which makes precisely no sense. To decide if the speaker had completely died or weather I had caused some stress to a contact or wire I disconnected the other speaker from the left headphone so as to test the right speaker on the left.... same thing happened with the left speaker, when I plug it back into the contacts I now get nothing from that one as well! So now I have no sound from either side, it quite simply is illogical, ridiculous, all common sense states this should not be the case. The only thing that I think it can be is something to do with the contacts... assumable when they are removed and reinserted they are not making contact with the inner contacts of the speaker units!? bit ridiculous for supposedly such great industry standard headphones that you can replace any part of.... clearly they are not so well designed for self-repair as they claim to be.
I've also tried wiring the speaker units into a different headphone set, still no sound from the speaker units of the DT100's.... any advice greatly appreciated, as now they are pretty much useless, though I seem to have removed the buzz...... ... .. . :p

Sound and noise canceling comes and goes in right ear. Just touching the right ear piece creates problem. Moving around on right ear makes it come and go. When using only as noise cancelling, right side seems to come and go and is very sensitive when touched or moved on ear. Music or speech is intermittent and sensitive to touch. Left side is normal with none of the right side problems.
