This can be caused by your modem/dialup software. I have got around this before by going into Network connections and creating a new connectoid - bypassing the software that your ISP provides. You will need the following information:- 1. Phone Number to be dialled 2. Username and password. The error message is a Windows one, so the above should work. Don't forget to change the way that IE connects, you will want to go into Tools / Options and the Connection Tab. Highlight your new connectoid and then click on the Make Default button. All you need to do now is open IE or Outlook / Outlook Express and it will dial your connection. You can also download HijackThis from Trend Micro and post the log in here. There may be something else that is starting which is hijacking the modem. I can type help in here to talk you through removing the necessary if required.
