Question about HP LaserJet 1100 Printer
I had a paper jam with paper stuck so that it was under the bottom of the front cover which at first did not show. When I finally found it I pulled it out and the whole sheet did come out. However, the door now will not close - it makes it to a couple of inches from closing but balks and I think even if I forced it it would not close.
I have looked at parts diagrams and don't see any parts that would readily seem to offer a fix for this problem.
There is a black strap that retracts when the door is closed; the one on the left is intact and works, the one on the right is not attached and has nothing to attach to. I can push it in and out of the machine but it doesn't seem to have anythign to do with the fact that the door now doesn't seem to fit.
Any ideas, please?
The only thing that may be possible is that the drive for the toner cartridge has not reset remove the toner cartridge and close door if the door closes without the cartridge in switch off wait 10 seconds switch on open door and install cartridge hopefully you will be able to close the door now. If you cannot open remove cartridge again and I believe on the left hand side you will see a funny looking gear if you can turn it or just push it in. Failing this it will need to be stripped and rebuilt as the door strap as you have put it is out of position.
Hope this is of some help to you and please rate me
