Question about Kenmore 22642 Top Load Washer
Everything was running smoothly then I noticed that the machine had stopped, so I figured it was finished and I opened the lid to remove the clothes when I discovered that the tub was still filled with sudsy water. My first thought was that either the control switch is not telling the pump to turn on or the pump itself is dead. I rotated the switch to all other positions for draining the tub but to no avail.
Do I open up the control panel and lood for a faulty electrial switch or do you think it's the pump.
There had not been any unusual or disconcerting noises prior to this occurrance.
Where are the friction pads located on the machine?

There are a set of friction pads which engage the washer these pads wear down and then the washer will not wash or spin
