Uninstall the driver and restart PC, the PC should autodetect the hardware, slap in the cd that came with it and reinstall drivers. If that fail open device manager to see if their is any conflicts. If not the card went bad and youl need to get a new one.

the reason could be the networks scanned by your wireless card when it starts up. What you could do is go to select your preferred netwrok and bring it to the top of the list . ( In the wireless configuration utiity ).

You need a network card that is functioning to connect to anything.
If your network card in the desktop stops functioning, you will need to replace it (or, if it's built into the motherboard, add a card).
Unless you have a wireless card also installed, you cannot connect wirelessly.

HP Pavilion dv9700 laptop, Wireless stops working at random.

HP's normally use the Atheros wifi card which recently has had many problems such as what you describe here. Try a different wifi card to see if this solves the problem. If you don't have a wifi card take it to a local repair shop to see if they have one they can try for you.

My Dell Inspiron 1525 has been connected to wireless networks in the area and working perfectly. Suddenly this morning the connection was disabled and now it tells me there are no networks available....

Sometimes when you boot up the wireless card does not get an IP address from the wireless router. If you have an wireless icon on the task bar with a red X on it then right click on this icon and click Repair, if not go to the Control Panel - Network Connections - right click on the wireless connection and Repair. This will force the wireless router to issue the wireless card with new IP address.
If this doesn't work check the Device Manager to see if the wireless card is enabled and functioning, if not reinstall the wireless driver and configure it to match the wireless router settings.

Internet setup

few things you can try:
1. check to make sure you're getting an IP address.
2. try reloading the wireless card driver.
3. is you wireless static or dynamic? If dynamic, try configuring it with static setting.
4. If this don't work, try the wireless card on a different slot.
5. if don't work, try on a different PC to see if wireless card is working or not.
It's possible you have a bad wireless card.
good luck!!

What router brand/model do you have. Is it set up to broadcast it's SSID? Has encryption been enabled on the router?

Have you used Device Manager to make sure the new wireless card is operating properly.

I hope you'll answer these questions and let me try to help before you rate this...
