Disconeted from router and internet

Hello, since yesterday i have a totaly new router. my dad installed it and it keeps disconecting and reconnecting to the internet in about 30 minutes. this is getting anoying sinds its totaly new.My dad has a lot of brains about computers but he doen't really seems to wanting this to be fixed :S. maybe you guys can give a simple problem that can cause this.

in the router sittings remove the idle time for disconnecting and make it keep alive
