My DTT 901 remote control was not there wheen I went to install--and I cannto scan at all. So I asked Zenith for a control, they quoted soem eight dollar and change, that is ok, but they wanted a furhter same amount, or double total, because they won;t tos it in an envelope and ship fo r pennies, they insist on using expensive shipping. anybody know a cheap source? radio shack doesn't have this product any more.

I don't think there's an actual LG DTT 901. They make the digital converter boxes for Zenith (DTT 901) and Insignia (NS-DXA1-APT). Look at this chart:

If the remote is older than the converter, it will probably not have a code set for it. This is a common problem since the code sets programmed into any remote are generally already somewhat 'behind the curve' and contain only data that applies to devices which have been on the market for 6-12 months. Unfortunately, no two manufacturers utilize even a basic menu of commands and even have different codes sets within their own product lines.
You might try the remote maker's website to see if updates are available or even possible.
