SOURCE: Locked dvd tray.
To unlock, manually press and HOLD the open/close button & the stop button simultaneously, and HOLD them both down until the lock picture disappears. The DVD will eject when you press the open/close button. To lock the DVD inside the machine, repeat the same step, and it will lock it inside.
SOURCE: Eject tray will not open when pressed, just comes up with blocked.
The small slot on the underside of the machine seems to be basically there to provide access to the manual opening lever (the white nub). That white nub popped the drawer open straight away for me. So now I have drawn an arrow on the underside to remind me which way to move the lever next time it happens! You can also move it the other way to get the disk to play. I also think you should never leave the machine without a disk in it - ejection of the empty drawer seems much harder for some reason. And possibly the ejection works better if you use the stop control on the remote instead of the eject button on the front of the machine.

I have the same problem. I just want the damned thing to return my precious audio CD. I can hear a motor trying to open the tray, but something seems to be mechanically jammed.
SOURCE: dvd tray will not stay closed. opens and shuts randomly
i had exactly the same problem on a LG-RH278H resp. a Medion MD 81733. I solved it by opening the micoswitches, cleaning the contacts and streching the springs inside the switches a little. The Problem was, that one of the microswitches stayed conductive even when it was off/open.
