Unless it's a programmable remote it won't have any settings to adjust.
Obvious thing first - you have changed the batteries?
If it is a programmable remote, then you might not have got the right code for the system. This will allow some buttons to work and not others.
One the other hand you can reset to factory settings on your system. This might correct the remote problem.
There are two methods to reset. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the device from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. While the unit is off, press and hold [+ VOLUME], [< OPEN/ CLOSE] and operate on the main unit at the same time for more than 5 seconds.
It doesn't look like you can change the region code I uploaded the manual here (http://www.superfi.co.uk/extras/Panasonic/Panasonic-SCBTT755-manual.pdf) page 11
Check to see if there is a reset to factory settings in the menu or a small hole on the case which you can use a pin to push a small button in side which is used to reset your device to factory settings
Try first unplugging unit from main, and holding the cancel button.
If that does not work try the following: Hold at the same time the stop button on the main unit and key >10 on the remote control at the same time for about 5 seconds, until you get the word "initialised" on display. This will reset the unit to factory settings.
The system has a locked / unlocked toggle sequence on the main unit by holding down stop (or Play) and then tapping the power button. Use this sequence lock or unlock the DVD / CD drawer.
