Question about D-Link AirPlus DI-524 Wireless Router

Port Forwarding - can't access router management

Have run cmd ipconfig, have ip as follows
IP 192.168.0.100
sub 255.255.255.0
default 192.168.0.1

can't acces the router management

    I have 3 computers connected to the router. Just from one of them I can't reach router managment program on my browser (MSexplorer 7.0, other computers have ver 6.0). I can get in by Telnet.

    I turned off firewall, reset router. Nothing helps reaching ip 192.168.10.1

    I upgraded the firmware (english version - default was german) and it worked just fine. After I restarted the router I couldn't access it. DHCP doesent work, so I entered the ip address manualy example 192.168.0.10 gateway 192.168.0.1 after that I ping 192.168.0.1 and it is successfull, but I cant access the web interface. The status light is blinking, and WLAN is off. I did a portscan and no ports are open...Can you please give me some directions how to deal with this. Thaks in advance. Looking forward to your replay.

    I'm on a wireless shared internet with no way to access router and administrator will not open ports, trying to share files with family and torrent client can not connect.

Did that already, using the ip given from running ip config. that is the problem.

Normaly you can gain entry to the router
via an ip adress you would put into internet explorer
you can get the ip adress from the manual you got with the router

failing having the book then a google serach will tip up the info you need

    • 1 Connect only your Xbox and computer to the Internet. Disconnect all other devices. This is done to easily determine the Xbox's IP address, which is used in the Port Forwarding process.
    • 2 Open the Windows Command Prompt from the Start Menu. Click "Start > Run...," then type in "cmd" and hit "OK."
    • 3 Enter "ipconfig" n the command prompt. A list of IP addresses pop ups. Write down the IP address of your computer.
    • 4 Open your router setup utility through a web browser. Use the given directions from your router manufacturer to do so. Generally, the configuration page is opened by inputting the router IP address into the URL in the following format: http://123.456.7.8/ (where the IP Address number is unique to the router manufacturer).
    • 5 Open the "DCHP Client List" section of the router setup utility. This lists the devices currently connected to the Internet through the router, which is your computer and Xbox. Write down your Xbox's IP address (in this case, the one that is not your computer's IP address).

How do I get my router add a new port forwarding entry - port 12345, protocol TCP. And how do I find out the IP address of my computer? Thank you for you your assistance.
To find the IP address your computer is using:

Windows XP/7
1. Click on Start > Run
2. Type cmd and hit enter
3. Type ipconfig and hit enter
4. The number on the right of IP Address is your assigned address.


To add a port forwarding entry, log into your Linksys device and try the following:

1. Click on the "Applications & Gaming" Menu
2. Input an application name (Can be anything you want)
3. Enter the desired port number [12345] in both External and Internal Ports
4. Choose the TCP protocol
5. Enter the last number of the IP Address in the box
6. Click the Enabled check box

I need to do port forwarding
You need to access the router setup screen if you want to do port forwarding on the router. also you need to check the IP address of the unit, or device you want to forward as well as the port service.

in accessing the router setup screen;

> open IE, on the address bar type 192.168.1.1 - username is blank and password is admin in lowercase.

> go to applications and gaming

> look for port range forwarding, input the name- any name will do

> the service port for example it is only one port service to open and that is port 80 and then you should have to put there 80 to 80 then check if tcp/udp protocol as well, check the IP address of the computer and then enable.

> to check the IP address of the computer go to start> run > cmd and hit okay > then type ipconfig check the IP address after.

Ip address for router for xbox live setup
If you have a computer hooked up to router, go to command prompt (Start - Run - cmd, then press enter), and type in ipconfig. The router's IP address will be the Default gateway address.

If no computer handy, most default router IP addresses are one of the following:
192.168.1.1
192.168.2.1
192.168.1.254

You can't use the routers IP?
When setting up port forwarding you will bind each rule to your inhouse IP. This is the ip the router assigns each computer on your network. If DCHP is enabled and you have only 1 computer on the router the computers ip may well be 192.168.1.100. You can obtain your machines ip by opening Run. type cmd and hit enter. When the command prompt window opens type. ipconfig /all. The ip you find there is the ip you will need to bind your rules to.

You need to set up "Port Forwarding" on the router. 9339 is the port you said you needed open.

This will prompt you for your router password. Default password is a blank username and a password of "admin".

Once you are into the configuration menus click on the "Application and Gaming" tab. This is where you add permissions to use port forwarding.

In a nutshell, pick the port you want open in the "start" and "end" fields. Leave the protocol at "both". Enter the last 3 digits of your "computer's" IP Address and select the "enable" check box.

To find your "computer's" IP, open up a cmd prompt by;
XP: Windows Icon (bottom left of desktop) and select "run". Type in "cmd" (without "'s) and hit enter.
Vista: Windows Icon (bottom left of desktop) and type "cmd" into the search bar then hit enter.

Once you have a cmd screen open type type the following minus the "'s.
"ipconfig"
Look for an entry that looks like 192.168.1.100, it will be labeled as IP** Address. The last 3 numbers of that address are what you want to enter in to the port forwarding configs.

After you are all done, click on "save settings" and that program should now have unrestricted internet access.

Cant find my Router ip to do Port forwarding
click on start and click on run
on run open box type in cmd and hit enter
black window will open, type in ipconfig then click on enter then look for the default gateway address, that;s the ip of your router
