I have a Mitsubishi WD-65737. I replaced the bulb about 4 months ago (whole lamp assembly with housing). All has been good until today, now it turns on and runs just fine for about one minute then shuts down. When this happens the status light stays red. When I run a self-diagnostic (holding the + buttons at the same time and hold for 5 seconds) I get an error code 34 telling me that the lamp cartridge has failed. I pulled the cartridge out to look at it and it still looks good as new. I also tried a System Reset by pressing the button on the front panel and holding it for 8 seconds. Still the same when I turn it on.

Make sure the lamp is a real osram or phillips lamp. IT should say Osram PVIP or Osram Neolux.

If not get a new lamp. Otherwise try reseating the lamp.

SOURCE: green status light keeps blinking after lamp replacement

continuous blinking green light indicates that the capacitors have failed on the DM pwb. You need the V26 DLP DM repair kit which is available at the following link under their repair category.

Yes this is the signal for a bad lamp. Other things can cause this. 1. Look at the new lamp. make sure it still looks good. not broken with little glass pieaces in it. 2. When you turn on the tv, put your ear to the lower back part of the tv near the middle. Listen for the start up of the color wheel (a low high pitch sound only at the start up of the motor). If this is good you will here a ticking sound only if the lamp dose not light.

Now with all this info. If the lamp lights (as seen from the back of the set) and goes out after a few seconds and you did not here the color wheel spin up, the color wheel is bad.

If you here the color wheel spin up and no ticking sound, the Ballast is bad.

The ballast part no. 939P978010

The color wheel is not avialable from Mits. You will have to replaced the light engine. It cost to much. Just buy a new tv.

My best gess is the Ballast.

What can I do about my Mitsubishi WD-65737 having a dark screen and cutting itself off? We have already replaced the bulb and ballast.

Can you link a picture of the issue? If the picture is bright in some areas and not in others then it could be anything from the lamp lens, light tunnel, or any other mirrors or lenses. If the picture cuts off sharply, it may be something else. A ballast wouldn't cause that but a lamp could. Make sure the bulb is an Osram brand or Philips. Any knocks offs are not to be trusted regardless of how good they say it is. Without a picture or video of the problem, its hard to determine where the problem lies.

There is sound but no picture

The board that connects to the bulb is the ballast. If it's bad then it won't fire the bulb or will cycle it on and off.

BULB IS BLOWN ON THE MITSUBISHI WD65733

your model uses the Mitsubishi 915061010 Lamp assembly with housing which is available from www.tvrepairworld.com under the Mitsubishi DLP Lamp category. The lamp comes with installation instructions and is a simple plug in , It includes the housing so you dont need to remove the old bulb from your housing to reuse since the new lamp already has the housing with it.

if you used an OEM lamp rather than an original ,it may have gone out. The more expensive original bulbs last longer

TV was working earlier, today came home no green power light no nothing

I looked up the manual online - after you replace the bulb, you need to reset the bulb life timer. Using the TV remote push the menu button, SETUP menu, select the lamp reminder option to reset the hours to zero. That might help the status indicators.

sounds like the projector globe is gone. i think you will need to replace it. if you are lucky there should be a pannel on the side or rear of the tv that allows you to replace the globe. pricey though.

good luck
