SOURCE: Plays CDs but not DVDs

Melisha, I had a similiar problem. Go into the onscreen menu with the remote using the "ACTION" button on the bottom left of the remote. Using the arrow keys in the center of the remote, move to the menu for the audio processing. It will have menu items for DTS, Dolby Digital etc. Change the menu parameters for the "Down conversion" to "yes", get out of the menu mode and see if your DVD works again. If not, make sure there is no DVD or CD in the player, and press the "open/close", "pause" and the double left pointing arrow buttons all at the same time for about 5 seconds until the display on the DVD player says "INITIALIZE". This resets your machine. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Bad Disc

First determine where the problem lies. This can be done by analyzing what is happening. Is the disc spinning. Is it spinning erratically? If the disc is not spinning, the spin motor is probably defective. But sometimes you can be fooled, if the laser does not detect information of the disc, it will not issue a start spin motor command. If you can get the unit to work with the door open by defeating the switches,(Do not under any circumstances look directly into the laser)If you see the laser then the spin motor is bad, In either case the unit is is probably cheaper to replace than to repair. Goto the following site: http://www.drx9000repair.netfirms.com/#Cyberhome%20CH%20300 You more than likely have a bad power supply. The caps in the output circuit are pretty crappy and are well known for failure. Good luck! Art

SOURCE: tevion player shows BAD DISC,

Since the unit is under warranty, you can't touch anything without voiding the warranty. This problem could be as simple as a dirty lens. Bring the unit in for repair under warranty.

SOURCE: dvd player bad disc message

your dvd head (lens) is bad
(1) it needs to be cleaned by a special fluid puted in the cleaning disc or
(2)it needs to be adjusted because it lit vey low illumination (light) during detecting the details of the disc. and this need a qualified technician ot adjust the variable resistor port attached in the lens assembly unit.

My rear DVD player in my 2010 F-Expd was working but then we changed the disc and it made a weird clicking sound like it was trying to read and gave a load disk error. It does this w/every disc.ideas?

Hello Ammie Gordon,

If you have this same response from a couple of DIFFERENT DVDs (combined with your "noise" symptom) then it is safe to assume you are having a head/drive issues ...

These units are quite robust, cleanable and serviceable... but my best ADVICE is they are also fairly INEXPENSIVE (not cheap) and available (on eBay as well (in colors)... ADDITIONALLY... identical unit were equipped in the 2010 Lincoln Navigator.

I would get a COMPLETE REPLACEMENT and have the SALAMI removed by your ORIGINAL by your favorite uncle in your leisure time...

Hurry... BLUETOOTH "PLAYLISTS" and streaming media are right behind this technology... and ...
these will be as hard to find as 8 TRACK tape players
(I'm just saying).

Hope this helps.

2005 expedition rear dvd player will not play dvds -it says "reading" then "bad dvd" then kicks it out

The laser lens could just be dirty or the laser could have burned out. you can try one of the lens cleaning discs available at most electronic stores or your local Wal-mart.

How do you connect a pioneer d2 navigation system to a 2006 ford expedition entertainment system

You need to identify the four wires that carry the DVD audio in the factory plug, and re-wire them to RCA plugs that can be used with the Auxiliary input RCA jacks on your Pioneer unit. The four wires should be: Left (+) light green Left (-) white Right (+) red Right (-) black The easiest way is to purchase some inexpensive RCA cables (or better yet, speaker wire with RCA ends). Cut the cables and wire the center pin conductor wires to the (+) audio wires in the stock plugs, and connect the outer shield conductors to the (-) wires. Then connect the RCA plugs to your head unit's auxiliary input jacks.
