Idles good, dies when i put it in gear

1988 stnd cab, 5.7 liter 350. Truck sat for 8 years. Got it running, ran good for 3 weeks. Started losing power and not running well until it got up to temp. Once at temp it ran fine. Replaced catalytic converter, ECM valve, and cooling valve? Computer was throwing a "15" fault code which said it was the cooling valve. Now it idles ok, runs in neutral, when i put it in gear it wont stay running.

I had a very similar problem except I would have to throttle my truck just to keep it running. It wouldn't even idle. If I were you check the spray pattern on your fuel injectors. It should look like a nice misty cone. Youy dont want lage drips of fuel, you want a mist. Also cut into your fuel line to test your fuel pressure. It should be around 9-13 psi. My truck had 3psi. I then replaced the fuel pump and the problem was solved. Hope this works for you.

1987 chevy with Throttle Body... You literally have to put it to the floor to get it to start, then it'll run nice for a while thinking it'll run take it for a drive and it will shortly die on

Check all fuel lines for leaks, make sure it doesn't have bad gas in it. Listen for fuel pump when key is turned on. Change fuel filter. See if that's helps.

It sounds like you might have a clogged catalatic converter on the exhaust system.

Doesn't stay running when i give it gas. runs idle and in gear.

Are both injectors spraying gas? Make sure fuel filter wasn't installed backwards and remember if the fuel pressure drops below 9psi those trucks wont run. If injectors are sticking tap them lighty with a wrench and see if that helps
