Max, you have a defrost problem and it's probably the heater. To make sure, access the main board on the back side of the refrigerator. On the board you will see a blue 3 pronged harness on the lower left side. Take a jumper wire with clips and jump line to defrost. Keep the harness on but give yourself enough room to clip on. This will send 120 V to the heater itself. The heater is on the bottom side of the coils. One side should have a blue wire and the other side a pink. If the heater does not come on, verify that you have 120 V by checking the voltage on the blue and pink wires. If you have that voltage and no heat, replace the heater. If you don't have the voltage, replace the board. Catriver.

Hi Rob,

The problem in your case is most probably with the defrost thermostat.

It can be found on the evaporator i.e. freezing coils , it's round disc like with two wires.

If you get this replaced with a new proper working unit ,

Also make sure you replace the defrost timer as well if the problem persists.
Hope this helps ..:)

Freezer light blinking Ice maker not making ice freezer not as cold

sounds like ur freezer is in alarm due to not being cold enough and wont allow the ice maker to distribute water to be frozen into ice u should have a fan behind the back panel inside the freezer make sure it is working and the coil underneath it is not frozen solid if the fan isnt working then check and make sure it has power if it does and the fans not running then replace the fan and this should get ur freezer working again but if the coil is frozen and the fan is running then u may have a bad defrost element that runs through the coil it is black u can test it by taking the wires off it and checking continuity thru it if it has continuity then its ok if not then it needs replacing

The freezer isnt freezing solid and the fan continues to run.. fridge side is cold

check for a defrost problem evident by frost build up on the back wall of the freezer, then change either the timer, heater or defrost thermostat. also make sure coils are clean underneath the refrigerator and that the fan underneath is running

My freezer stopped freezing a couple of days ago, coil frozen up i defrosted it and now no air is blowing into refrigerator part both freezer and refrigerator are not cold

if the fan is not running then most likely the defrost stat has failed but you should also check the fan for continuity if you have continuity the fan should be ok you can find a defrost stat on parts

The coils are frozen solid in freezer behind back wall

frozen coils not always means freon problem. low air flow across evaporator coils could cause freeze up. if door is opened and closed an abnormal amount could cause a freeze up or even something pushed up against the air intake in the refridgerator. i would thaw it out completely and restart it, theres a chance it was nothing major. good luck

Freezer and frig is not working

I would start by pulling it out, removing the lower back panel, and see if the compressor is running. It is the black ball on the left side. If it is not running, check voltage at the two wires at the compressor. If there is voltage, try a new overload/relay kit. If there is no voltage, try a thermostat. If the compressor is running, check the evaporator behind the rear freezer panel to see if it is frozen solid, if it is, replace the defrost timer.

My freezer is working but my Fridge is warm?

Sounds like a typical air flow (circulation) problem. This can be due to an evaporator fan not working, a frozen up coil not allowing air flow over it (due to failed defrost system, etc.) or even the damper for the fridge section stuck closed not allowing cold air from the freezer in. The first thing is to check the evap. fan to make sure it's running. It's easy to take the rear interior of the freezer section off and check for fan operation, solid ice on the coils, etc. If the coils have a nice white frost pattern all over then that's ok, but if they are frozen solid block where the air can't flow over them it's a defrost timer, defrost t-stat or defrost heat element (not likely) issue. Usually it's the t-stat or timer that goes out. The t-stat is easy to visually check to see if it's epoxy is "popped" out and of course a continuity check to be sure. The defrost timer is just a swap out sort of thing, not much to test there.
