Hello, I have a pair of Stanton STR8 150s and one of them is having a really annoying slight torque drift, so the drum beat sounds kind of warped, and the speed varies slightly throughout the track. Once the plate just stopped moving altogether, although this hasn't happend since. I have tried different needles and records which doesn't help obviously. If you need any more information that would help you, help me, then please ask :)
So what could be the causes of this, it sounds like something in the motor right? Also could I fix the problem myself or would that be a really stupid idea? Please get get back to me asap so that I can get this sorted!

"Drifting too far from the shore" - Charles W Moody
"Out on the perilous deep,
Where danger silently creeps,
And storm's so violently sweeping,
You're drifting too far from shore
Drifting too far from shore,
You're drifting too far from shore,
Come to Jesus today,
Let Him show you the way
You're drifting too far from shore,
Today, the Tempest rose high,
And clouds o'ershadow the sky
Sure ***** is hovering nigh,
You're drifting too far from shore
Drifting too far from shore,
You're drifting too far from shore,
Come to Jesus today,
Let Him show you the way
You're drifting too far from shore,
Why meet..."
Chances are that the mouse is just drifting a bit. like, it's sitting still on the desk and the pointer starts moving on it's own on the screen. It's caused by dust getting on the optical receiver and drifting around on it. By no means is it a ghost though.
There is a chip in the unit called a
phase lock loop ,( P.P.L )its use as station loc
for stereo turner. But the same applies.
Its drifting and unable to hold/lock
the signel is noisy that its trying to
lock on to (open ground) or the VCO
is out eather way it probley needs
to be replaced.
I finally just was able to solve this problem! I saw somewhere that someone had made sure their primary mouse was selected under hardware, which got me thinking. I thought I had seen a second mouse option somewhere. So, I went into my Control Panel > System > Device Manager and click the arrow next to Mice and other pointing devices. Sure enough, there were two listed. A seemingly generic one and my Logitech I've been using. I right clicked on the generic one and chose disable and the drifting IMMEDIATELY stopped. I went so far as to re-enable that generic to see if it was a fluke because it had stopped drifting on its own yesterday, nope as soon as I enabled the generic device, drifting started again. So Happy!!!
Since the RCI 6900 is a 10 meter ham radio, and not desogned for the 11 meter band, when you had it modified, you also expanded the PLL chip past it's normal use. 10 Meter radios are not designed for CB use ( and of course this is also illegal ) so the PLL does drift. There is no real fix on this problem. Sorry
