Seems to make the sound more in the evening,
TRY AND LISTEN TO UR COMPRESSOR SEE IF U HEAR ANNYTHING THERE? IF NOT CHECK UR COMPRESSOR CONDENSOR FAN AND FREEZER EVAPORATOR FAN FOR BLOCKAGE OR OBSTRUCTIONS? OR POSSIBLY 1 OF THE FANS MOTOR IS GOING OUT MAKING FUNNY SOUNDS, ANOTHER THING COULD BE A BAD DOOR SEAL ISSUES WHICH OVERWORKS THE COMPRESSOR AND CAN CAUSE IT TO MAKE FUNNY NOISES
SOURCE: High-pitched noise
Could you specify if noise is coming from : - The freezer - The outside back of the refrigerator - The bottom of the refrigerator
SOURCE: GE SidexSide PSS26SGPASS Makes Humming Noise
GE refrigs have a variable speed evaporator fan motor that is controlled by a computer board on the back of the refrig. now the noise you are hearing is most likely the fan motor ramping up and down in speed (some of my customers say it sounds like a ghost). if its a continuous ramping up and down then the speed cotroller on the board is bad and must be replaced. if its just an occasional sound then thats normal and nothing to worry over.
Btw the reason the noise stops when the door opens is because the fan shuts off when you open the door.
SOURCE: Refrigerator Compressor has loud vibration
Clean the coils. what you are hearing is the valves as the pressure equqlizes. Also make sure that the fan by compressor is on while compressor is running.
SOURCE: the refrigerator makes a popping sound
sounds like it's your self-defrost working normally as for things freezing, check temps in front and back of refrig and you may be able to raise temp to alleviate condition w/o food in frt end being too warm
Testimonial: "thank you As a matter-of-fact, I did try raising the temp and the popping did stop now I am going to buy a thermometer for the frig and freezer "
SOURCE: My refrigerator makes a loud humming sound.
sounds like its bearings in a fan motor probably your evaporator fan motor it is located behind the plastic shell in your refrig. you have to take out the lining and then you will see the fan, evapartor and etc.
