1st Gen Macbook Pro Seagate 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive replaced for a Hitachi 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive due to constant hard drive parking resulting in clicking noise heard every few seconds. Thought hard drive was going bad but apparently this is not the case since I replaced the old hard drive with a new one. Running Tiger 10.4.11 with all updates current. Even turned off the motion sensor and hard drives still clicks. Apple have a hard drive fix only for Leopard and 7200 RPM hard drives. Apple boards say it is an overzealous power management issue. Anybody got a software fix to turn off the power management?

Thanks! I see 5 gold "plugs" where the battery goes into and 3 small circles with minute phillips type groove. Behind that is the RAM? How do I know what's bad? Once I unscrew will it compromise the repair cost if I have to bring it to someone?

I just upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro with Intel Core duo. Since thta moment, I can't print to the phaser because the printer restarts by itself. I tried using other computers with older OS versions and the printer is fine. I also downloaded the latest driver for OS 10.6 from Xeron and tried to upgrade the firmware on my Phaser 7750 printer, from 5.02 to 5.06 but just could not do it. Is there anything else I can do Thank you for your help Jaime Castillon C+C STUDIO
