Question about White Sewing 1418 Mechanical Sewing Machine
I loaned to my friend my White sewing machine #1418 and she disassembled tension dial by accident. I need to re assemble. Anybody have schematics? or suggestions?

Sorry but there is no way to explain how to re-assemble the tension mech on here, you need to be actually shown or have someone do it for you. It is very fiddly and needs to be exact, can I suggest you get in touch with a sewing machine tech who(at cost) will sort you out.
Sorry I cannot be of any further help.

Please, tell me, is the main spintle, still on the machine, or it came off with the rest of the parts?
If you can put the tension parts, the one next to the other in front of the machine, and upload a photo for me, it will be very easy to explain how to put them back.

The best that I can do for you is to tell the order in which the parts
go back into place. You have three disks that are similar and a fourth
disk with a bar coming out of it. Put the three disks closest to the
machine and the fourth disk with the bar on it on the outside and the
bar goes into the hole in the sewing machine. Before you push these
parts onto the tension bar, you have to take the check spring (loopy
spring thing) and sandwhich these four parts in between the loop of the
check spring. As you are putting this into the machine, there is a
sprocket type of assembly that engages the spring. Once this is in
place, you have a cup shaped piece, then a beehive shaped spring, then
a washer with a bar through the middle of it and a point (the point
should go to the lower part of the bar). Then comes the silver wheel,
then the number wheel is attached to that. I hope this helps you.
Should you need to purchase any parts for your machine, I do have them all available on www.sewingandvac.com

SOURCE: sewing machine tension?
Hi! This might be a tension issue, but it also could be caused by the needle. For stretchy fabric you need to use a stretch needle or at the least, a ballpoint needle. (see my tip about which needle to use).
Let me know if this solves the problem, ok?

Testimonial: "yes it was a combination of the two, thanks!"

If you have taken the hook out that is the half moon shape first of all make sure the needle is at the top of the machine, hook in, gate up and that is all there is to it.
