I reset my phone but it wont let me start

If you forgot the password the only way to fix is by do it yourself a hard reset but after doing hard reset all files will lost and if you phone has a google account you need to log in it to used all features.

3 Methods to Remove Forgotten Patterns Lock in Android Softstribe


The instructions above state that if you have a google gmail account registered you do not have to wipe your phone.

You need to have a registered Google account on your phone in order to reset the screen unlock pattern. In case you do not have a registered Google account, You must repair the phone software before tapping "Forgot pattern". The phone is locked if the incorrect screen unlock pattern was entered fives times in a row.

Follow the procedure below to repair the phone software:
> Open PC Companion 2.0 on the computer, tap Start then Repair in the "Support zone" application and follow the instruction you see on the screen. You need to call your phone provider customer service dept. and they should be able to reset your phone.

When you can't recall your LG Optimus Slider unlock Pattern, PIN or Password:

To unlock the pattern screen lock without signing in with your Google account You need to repair the software of the phone.


The steps to repair the phone are the following:

1. On the computer: Start PC Companion™.
2. On thecomputer: In the Support Zone™ descriptor, in the Software Updatesection click Start > (Repair) and follow the instructions on the PCmonitor screen.
3. Turn off the phone.
4. Connect the USB cable to your computer.
5. On the phone: Press and hold down Back key and connect the USB cable to the phone.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Note : The software in your phone will be replaced. All personal data stored in your phone will be lost.

There is also a way to unlock the pattern screen lock by signing in with your Google account.

1. After 30 seconds, tap Forgot pattern?
2. You need to log in with the primary gmail.com e-mail address and not the alternative email address connected to the Google account.
3. Tap the username field and enter the primary Google account user name.
4. Tap the password field and enter the primary Google account password.
5. Draw a new unlock pattern and tap Continue .
6. Draw the new unlock pattern again and tap Continue .

I was able to get out of this state by doing a factory reset on the phone and setting up my Google account again. I had to reinstall all my applications and lost sms history etc. It seems to also work if you do a reset and setup your account on another phone, then the first phone starts working again. Of course you have to find another phone to reset for that to work.

I have not found a way on the web to reset my Google account when this happens. Logging in/out of GMail and Google Talk does not seem to trigger the reset.

Make a list of all the apps you have before you do the reset so you can reinstall them all.
