Ink cartridge alignment

Hi, my hp f380 says i need to align the cartridges every time i start it up. even though ive done it already, multiple times. is there a reason it doesn't think they're aligned? its kind of annoying to have it pop up with an error every time i turn it on. any help would be appreciated.

Until the alignment process is successfully completed, an alignment page automatically prints two separate times after each cartridge change. After that, a message appears on the computer screen recommending an alignment.

If you remove and install the same print cartridge, the unit will not align the print cartridges. The unit remembers the alignment values for that print cartridge, so you do not need to realign the print cartridges.

Position the cartridges so they are right side up and the gold leads are facing you.

  • 3

Place a small piece of tape over the gold contact in the top left corner of each cartridge.

  • 4

Place the cartridge back in the F380 printer. The printer automatically prints an alignment page.

  • 5

Remove the cartridges. Place a piece of tape over the gold contact in the top right corner of each cartridge.

  • 6

Place the cartridges back into the F380 printer. The F380 prints another alignment page.

My lexmark x 5650 keeps saying alignment error, try to remove tape. I've done this multiple times, tried cleaning the cartridge, and it keeps saying alignment problem. ive unplugged and plugged back in...

alignment error usually means that one cartridge is not printing, or paper tray is empty.
try removing both cartridges then stamp each printhead on some folded tissue paper. You should get one solid strip of black ink with the black cart and 3 colour strips with the colour cart.
If you don't...there is your problem.

    good luck

Printer is telling me i have alignement problems

Anytime you remove the cartridge the printer wants to align the print head. It doesn't matter whether you used it or not as long as you change/remove and/or install a new or old cartridge, it will ask to align. If you are printing text only and no pictures, then usually alignment is not critical. Though from experience, it is but usually 9 times out of 10 I don't need to re-align. But if you want to print pictures then you must align.
