Question about HP Compaq 1501 15" LCD Monitor
My 1501 display is showing a single constant yellow vertical line top to bottom right in the middle of my display. I presume this is a hardware fault and cannot be fixed ... any ideas ?
The display is out of warranty, so is there any chance I may be able to change a chip if you know where to look, or is it due for the skip ?

You are correct in that it is a problem with your LCD panel. Unfortunately, there are no chips to change, short of replacing the entire LCD. You can obtain a replacement screen from a vendor such as www.screentekinc.com but they usually run upwards of $300 U.S. If that's a sum you're willing to pay, give them a look. You can replace the screen yourself, or send them the laptop and they will replace it.
