windows xp is not booting. the computer is turning on and displays the p5vd2mx welcome screen, but then goes to a black screen with a flashing white line at the top left corner of the screen. furthermore, when i restart and hit the "del" key to enter the setup menu it freezes... the computer has been working fine until now. it has had 2gb ram, 500gb hd and a firewire port put in since it was purchased, however they have all functioned perfectly? what do i do?

- i dusted the fan vents before and theyre now clean, i havent opened up the tower and cleaned that out yet so i'll give it a go.
Have you dusted out your PC lately with some canned air? If your system is hanging up, it could be an overheat issue. Usually this will cause a reboot, but sometimes it will just stall and you have to do it yourself.

Dear sirs I had a hardware defect that can be defined as a component severely damaged by little fire and smoke and I would like to replace it by it´s substitute. It is a three pin device marked MW5564. I would like to know what component it is and it´s characteristics as it seems to be very easily replaceable. It is located close to the last pin of the memory slots. As I can´t boot it for the moment it seems to be the major problem. Thank you for your attention.
