Question about Palm Z22 Handheld
If you have tried the soft and hard resets and the touchpad is still not responding, you may need a new digitizer. You can get them on ebay for around $10-12. I just replaced mine and wrote up how to do it in an answer for another touchpad problem that was posted. The digitizer and tools come with no instructions, but I figured it out. Be gentle, and you can probably do the same. If you need more help, write again, and I will write out my process.

The problem could be the touchscreen but, typically, with the Z22 it's more of a configuration problem. I would recommend doing a "hard reset" after syncronizing. To reset the unit to factory specs hold in the reset (in the back) and the power button simultaneously for, at least, five seconds. Instead of the Palm icon you'll see a prompt to push up on the touchpad to reset to factory defaults. Then, go through the entire setup process, including the Digitizer to initialize and calibrate the touchpad. Hopefully, that should restore the touchpad. Otherwise, well, replacing that thing yourself is NOT easy.
You can find replacements easily on eBay.
