I have a Compaq Presario C300 that will not load windows xp home, xp pro or 2000 pro. After booting from the Cd, windows loads all the necessary files, and when asked to press enter to install, windows comes back and says it could not find a hard drive on the system and to press F3 to exit. Any ideas?

Hi John.
F11 process is not working and you get a NTLDR missing when you turnon the notebook.
Steps to be performed:
1. Perform hard drive self test from BIOS.
2. If it is passed then use retail version of operating system disk to install XP or try using new recovery disks which nay cost you $15.00.
In your notebook model this issue appears if there is any issue with the hard drive.
