My system does not recognize my mp3 player

my system does not recognize my mp3 player. when i connect it to my computer the charging process is seen but system does not detect it rather says it is malfunctioning

go to my computer> properties>hardware > device manager >universal bus driver>right click on it> update driver>
then1
1.yes this time only> next 2.choose advanced option>next 3don't search i"ll update from........>next4.click on show campatible> next> next 5. now it updated then restart you computer.
