I'm using MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ870QJ ATA and for some reason, it is now unable to detect any CDs/DVDs, nor blank CDs. When I put in a disc the Autoplay box does not pop up. Even if i click on the DVD Drive icon in My Computer, nothing happens. Please help! If it helps, I'm using a SONY VAIO VGN-CR35G/P laptop
Hi I am Vortash thete are a couple of reasons why this might happen , the most logical is that the drivers have become corrupted.
This may be due to another program being deleted and taking a common file out of the computer it shared with your Cd /DVD Driver .
Another reason is that the CD/Dvd is dusty and in need of cleaning purchase a disc cleaner ( the type with a disc that has brushes one side and a felt pad on the other ) this will get rid of any grease deposits from handling discs that may be contaminating your laser head .. or if it is the push in interchangeable unit type one of the pins in either the computer or the drive may be damaged ( this has happened to me a couple of times ) I hope these suggestions help you cure your problem Regards Vortash
