Cat at my speaker cords

My cat recently decided to chew through the input cord for my Harmon Kardon Soundstick II speakers, the thin one that goes from my ipod or computer or whatever device that I want to provide the sound.

I am SOO frustrated because I can see the place inside my subwoofer where a new cord would be plugged in, but there is no way that I can see to unscrew the base of the subwoofer to get at it. It is sealed inside the plastic feet that jut down from the subwoofer.

Is this something that I need to mail these bulky speakers off to get fixed?

one of my speakers in one of the sound stick has come way and is rattling around in the tube. It runs ok but drives me mad watching it wobbling on the wires. Does anyone know how to take the sound stick apart so that I can re-attach?

Not a cat for me. Young children yanked the jack of this cable from the back of my imacG5 and broke a piece of it off inside the computer audio outlet. Superglue helped me remove the broken piece but I now need to replace the cable or jack somehow as the speakers are redundant until I do.

Most cat problems can be taken care of with a swift kick or a big dog. Suggest you implement this fix before attempting to fix the other problem or you may get a repeat.

How do I disassemble + clean Harmon Kardon SoundStick subwoofer?

Check for a Fuse. Mine is an older model and has a Fuse right next to the power cord. It probably has a slot for a flathead screwdriver.

Harmon/Kardon SoundSticks 2, Power adapter?

If you go to the Harmon/Kardon website, you can find where to buy replacement parts.

http://www.harmankardon.com/

Select product support on the front page, then go to parts.

Then select your product as Harmaron/Kardon SoundsticksII and select your country.

Hope this helps,

Nathan.

Need a replacement power cord for harmon kardon sound sticks II

its not that expensive for a power cord. they are running on 12v so you go and buy a 12v power supply with a jack that fits the speakers or you can just find a power supply at home if you have one that is 12v
