Problem for Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer
Kenmore front loader not draining.

I washed a big comforter in my Kenmore front loader today along with some sheets and a few other items. When I went to check on it all the lights were flashing. I took out the comforter and left the other smaller items but found that even though the washer would spin it wasn't draining any of the water. I even tried taking out all of the clothes, but it still doesn't drain any of the water, only spins. Do I need a service tech to fix this problem?

Hi, UNPLUG the washer and shut off the water. Remove the lower front panel and you can access the water pump. You will need a wet/dry vaccuum to **** up the water as you open the sump cap on the pump. Spmetimes you can lower the drain hose into a bucket and get water out. Once the water is removed, open the cap and see if the filter is plugged as well as the pump inlet/outlet ports. This is common. If there are no obstructions, check voltage to the pump. it should get 120V.
