I can't quit a program using apple key and letter Q and more problems

Hola, a few problems;
The apple key and letter Q don't work when trying to quit a program.
Shift and any letter don't give me a capitol letter.
I get capitol letters only using caps lock.
I am using a macbook pro dual
All functions MAC has using the apple key do not work. I can not also get any of the symbols on top of the numbers. not even a question mark.
Is this keyboard broken or do you have a new software.
thanks
marcos

This sounds like one of two things. Either the keyboard is damaged, or possible the keyboard language needs to be checked.
Go to the Apple Menu and choose System Preferences. Then choose Keyboard & Mouse. In the language tab, check that your preferred language is the first one that shows.

Hop into your system preferences and make sure you don't have anything turned on in Universal Access. If you don't, it's probably a bad corner of your keyboard there.

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

You will need to close the program just like any other program on a Mac:

Press and hold the Command key and then press the Q key. If this doesn't work, then click on the Apple icon in the upper-left corner of the screen, then select "Force Quit...", then select "Firefox" from the list and then click the "Force Quit" button.

Good luck

How to type a letter with my I pad?

The iPad requires some sort of word processing software to write letters, just like any computer does. Search the App Store for "Word Processor" or "Word Processing" and see what comes up. Apple sells a word processing program called Pages for $9.99 that can type letters, and they can be connected via iCloud to any computer so you can print them off. There is also Google Docs, which is free, but I have never used it. It looks like it would work nicely too.

You cannot print letters from your iPad without an AirPrint capable printer, but maybe you can find an app that will allow you to send documents to your printer over WiFi, it depends on the printer model

What is a suggested way of toutching up the lettering on a computer keyboard key top?

you can look on ebay for the keys, look for your specific laptop model because keyboards tend to vary from one to the other. you can use white out or something along those lines and then put a clear layer of nail polish over it, but anything you do like that would look kind of tacky imho, so i'd just purchase new keys.

I just bought a top-end MacBook Air 13.3" 4 GB/256 GB for presentations. I also have a Dell M410HD projector, also quite new (a few months old), which works great with the two PCs (one new, one old)...

They (Apple) might be right. It could be that the projector is damaged, like the bulb, or it could be incompatible with your computer, but I don't think that is the case. Try taking the projector to a computer repair place.

NOT BOOTING .APPLE LOGO COMING ON SCREENING AND THE PROCESSING SYMBOL IS WORKING BUT NOT BOOTING. SUDDEN PROBLEM .

Take RAM chips out and re-insert firmly. Make sure you got the max RAM chips in each bay and buy quality RAM chips made by Samsung or Crucial or OWC. Also, turn power on and immediately press option-apple logo which is right next to the option key-the letter P- and the letter R all at the same time. A bong noise will come from nowhere like your in a monastery. Keep holding down all the keys until you hear the 3rd bong and then you can let go. This resets the power manager. See if that don't help you any. Also, go into system prefs, select account, select your account on the left side, select login items, then click and highlight on each item, and then press the - button on the screen. Your not deleting these programs-just keeping them from booting when you power on. Sometimes these programs interfere with bootup.

SHIFT KEYS NOT WORKING PROPERLY

Please try to deactivate the Fn (function) key. That will help you get rid of your problem. Press Fn key + Numlock key once and try again. You can also try pressing the Fn key once and type letters in any word processor program with the key combination everytime you press the Fn key once. E.g. open the notepad, press Fn once and after that press ) with Shift.

If you have problem, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Typing numbers instead of letters

Sounds like you may just have your numlock on. Just press function key plus F6 (on a macboook) and the numlock is off. If not you may have a broken keyboard. You can try to replace the keyboard yourself using an Apple Tablet Repair Guide or send it to a third party service Apple Tablet Repair.

Inspiron 2650 Laptop keyboard is locked.

If the keyboard is locked ALL the time, try unpluging the power supply, remove the battery, then push and hold the power button and any key on the keyboard for at least 30 seconds. then reinstall the battery, plug the pwoer cord back in and reboot it.

I had the same problem and that is what the DELL techs had me do. I had the problemm frequently for a while and then it just quit recurring. I haven't had the problem for a long time now.

I hope this helps.
