Missing drivers for "other devices"

I have a Gateway Laptop Gateway Model No. MX6124 3402283 . I had to reinstall windows xp from scratch. I had the right XP disk for this computer but apparently there was a seperate one for drivers which I don't have. According to GW's website I downloaded all of the requisite drivers with the exception of;
1. Ethernet controller
2. Multimedia audio controller
3. pci modem
4. video controller
5. VGA compatable video controller

I can't find a place on the computer or GW's website that says which components I have so I have no clue which drivers to download.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Yep... All I have is a yellow question mark for each of the components I listed. Thats the problem.... the properties lists "unknown" for the manufacturer. And no drivers. If I knew who the manufacturer was I could get the drivers

    After somemore research I found all of the components I was looking for were part of an Nforce driver set which was part of the motherboard.

    Once I installed the Nforce update all of the issues were resloved

Go to Control Panel - System - Device Manager and right-click on each of the hardware components where you need drivers. There will be a description of each item, so then you can download the drivers. Good luck

    Have you tried deleting those components in Device Manager ? When you reboot, they should reinstall and ask for the driver.

Audio device erased

You have to reinstall your audio driver. Answers to your questions: 1. You can locate it in your Device Manager. Locate and expand Sound,video and game controllers. 2. You don't have to delete legacy drivers because reinstalling your audio driver will update it. Right click your audio software the one you found in the Device Manager and update it. It will find your installation cd of your system drivers. Else, manually install the audio driver.
