Delonghi Espresso Machine not getting past startup

When I turn the machine on the brew unit does some kind of initialization thing. Before when it was working fine it would do this once and stop. Now it just keeps doing it while the two espress lights (single cup and dual cup) alternately flash. It never stops, just infinitely continues in this cycle. It stopped doing this after leaving it unplugged for a while, but now its doing it again....

Could be scale build up. Do you have well water? You should run a descaler or white vinegar through the unit often to keep the boiler outlets clean.

Unless you are saying that the pump just doesn't run, ie, no noise, vibration, etc. Then, thanks for the warning that their pumps are bad.

SOURCE: Won't brew

I had the same problem, just stopped brewing. I took it apart and found a small inline fuse link that went bad. I replaced it and it brews just like new. Now it has started leaking while brewing. I am trying to find where you can purchase the rubber tubing that goes from the tank to the element. I would go to another coffee maker but my son and daughter n law gave this to my wife and I. I really hate to get rid of it.

SOURCE: Delonghi Magnifica Rapid Cappuccino machine has

Your problem is the holes in the cappuccino maker and
steam nozzle are clogged. Clean the holes in the cappuccino maker and the steam nozzle.

IMPORTANT: Before cleaning the holes in the steam nozzle, make sure that there that it is not hot and there is no pressure on the machine.

I'm sending you a free pdf manual download of what I believe to be your machine. If this is not it, give me the model # and I will try to find it.

Good Luck!

SOURCE: Blinking on/off light won't turn off

It means it's time to "decalcify" your machine. Not sure how to do that, I assume run vinegar or something like that through it. You can turn the blinking light off by holding down the "set clock" and the "set timer" buttons at the same time.

The error code close door does not go off even if the service door was closed on DeLonghi Magnifica coffee machine

According to the De'Longhi UK website, the error message "Close Door" could be caused by two issues :

The brewing unit is not installed properly in the unit. You can try turning the unit off, remove and reinstall the brew unit, and then turn the unit back on to see if it reset itself.
The latch on the service door has coffee build up and is restricted from moving freely. Please clean the latch area and make sure the door closes.
If neither of these solutions work, you may need to contact DeLonghi support for further assistance.

Delonghi Magnifica Makes creaking noise when preparing brew unit

These machines do need to be lubricated every so often. First, buy some food safe lubricant, e.g. here. Then, turn the machine off, open the front door, and remove the infuser. There is a holder connected to the machine by two hex screws. You may remove this (or even just leave it on). Now attach a long tube to the lubricant (should come with the can) and spray lubricant on both sides of the vertical screw that moves the infuser up and down. Give it a few good sprays on both sides of the screw, up and down, and that should solve your problem.

Delonghi EC 155 general help

You don't have to wait 15 mins. just a few minutes, then run some hot water to warm up the portafilter and dry it up, fill it up with coffee and when you get the gree light again, make your espresso . You will have to have a good fine coffee and make sure to pack the coffee really good and don't leave any around the edges , so could make a good seal. If you have steam coming out of the machine , is maybe to hot and is ready to brew . Cool down the machine after use, run water through it and let the steam out of the nozzle.
