F 17 can be also the brew unit and the gear box
we had 2 of that type of error and each one was different.
if your hot water working and the milk working also look to see the brew unit or the gear box are damage.

F17 means insufficient water supply. It could be the water tank is not seated correctly. But it may be the filter behind the tank is blocked. Does it come on all the time .. or just with coffee or Hot-water ? If it comes on with just one then it may be that the coffee or hot-water pump is defective. regards
