While playing oblivion, a prompt appeared on my t.v. saying the disc is unreadable and that if it occurred again, to contact customer support. I pressed ok and then the screen went black. I powered off the console and then powered it back up. The power button lights up and the green ring lights up then spins as usual but the dashboard does not load, it seems as if it tries to load because the screen blinks, after not loading, the console restarts with the same problem, it continues to do so until I power it off. I waited a few hours and tried again, same problem, I also tried removing the harddrive and replacing it, same problem. I also waited a full day before trying again, same problem. Please help if you can. Thanks

- I tried powering up the console with and without a game in it after the incident, still same problem. Thanks though, any other suggestions?
One thing i would do is make sure that it boots without a game disk in it. If is does go into the dashboard and make it so it dosn't auto start games. after this, insert your game and wait for it to check the disk. then try to run your game

Had 3 rings of death on xbox 360. took xbox apart, reapplied arctic silver to CPU and GPU, to no avail. then replaced the xbrackets with better hardware to keep the heatsinks in contact with CPU/GPU. now, when the xbox boots it IMMEDIATELY shows 3 red lights, which flash 2 or 3 times, and then it turns to 2 red lights. the fans run very loud for 5 - 10 seconds, and shut off. it seems that the whole system shuts down, the heatsinks and CPU/GPU do not get warmer. running out of ideas here.....going to try shortly to use a different power brick. open to any and all ideas, please help!!!!
