If there's a setting that will show the whole picture, it's in the Menu under Picture:
1)Press the MENU button so that the menu display appears on the TV screen.
2)Press the VOL(ume) button so that "PICTURE" is selected.
3)Select the feature you wish to adjust with the CH(annel) or button and adjust it with the VOL(ume) or button.
Connect your motorola to the computer and scan for viruses, maybe some virus on it. and delete some unwanted files in it. or else you need to reformat your motorola or reset it to factory setting.
If you did the hold down '2' '9' reset, there isn't much more you can do. I have tried pulling out the battery pack and putting in a jumper wire between both battery contacts inside the radio (with no battery) and turn it on and let it sit for 1/2 hour. That's about the last thing to try. Only other goofy thing could be you got 'sticky pop' on the 'manual' button, so the radio thinks you pushed the manual button as soon as you turn it on. Make sure that the rubber isn't stuck around the manual button. You could try a QTip with 70% alcohol around the edge of the MANUAL button, but you also might wipe off some lettering at the same time, so use caution. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
THIS AUDIO PROBLEM PERTAINS A FEW DIFFERENT NAME BRANDS AND TO MOST VIZIO Tv MODELS MADE IN THE LAST 2-3 YEARS MAYBE EVEN 4+ I'M NOT SURE WHEN IT STARTED. I do believe your model is equipped with the SRS features which IS a formatted audio enhancement . Anyway go into the advanced audio settings in Tv's menu and TURN OFF the SRS tru volume leveling & the SRS tru surround feature. Additionally in the Tv's menu also has an option to turn off the internal speakers. And another common pitfall that I see happening to people. Is check the PCM and or LPCM option in both your Tv & your cable/satellite box's audio menu setup/settings. LPCM is Limited Digital Audio and PCM is Variable Digital Audio (VOLUME AMPLIFICATION) but because it is a digital signal the two formats conflict, and the audio will in and out. THIS AUDIO PROBLEM PERTAINS A FEW DIFFERENT NAME BRANDS AND TO MOST VIZIO Tv MODELS MADE IN THE LAST 2-3 YEARS MAYBE EVEN 4+ I'M NOT SURE WHEN IT STARTED. P.S. YOUR WELCOME I SAY THAT CAUSE QUITE OFTEN IT IS THE AUDIO PROBLEM VIZIO CUSTOMERS ARE HAVING!!! Jason Draimen AKA "AVALANCHE" !!!
Have Sylvania CR202SL8 TV with same problem. Cannot stop the scan or reset TV. It turns off at 15 minutes as designed when no action or signal.
DId you ever find a solution?
It had been in storage for years. Inititally, on power on it turned off on its own. Let it rest and retried and went in to Menu, I scanned the channels on antenna and worked fine for 15 minutes. Showed Now Scanning for seconds but image came back. Then it went into the Now Scanning screen and got stuck.
It did once get to the menu (don't know if on its own or my trying remote control button combinations) and was able to restart the scan (DTV/TV option, don't have DTV only option)...apparently it scanned digital, but started scanning for on air channels and got stuck on Now Scanning.
Usually those terminals are always on, and the only thing that you can change about them in the menu is audio out fixed(always same level) or variable(level controlled via remote).
There might also be a speakers off option in the menu, try it and in your case it might be the switch between internal and external sound.
And in the last resort look at the back for a manual switch, otherwise check for faulty cables.
You also might have a problem with the set.
Hope this will help. Good luck
With your model number at hand, check the DirecTV website for a later code list.
If you are the exception, you might find one.
Most all remotes have a 'search' function that lets you scan through all of the available code sets but this feature will, in most cases, provide only minimal functionality such as Power, Volume and Channel.
In truth, there isn't any such thing as a 'universal' remote, including the 'learning' remotes; I have one of those and it is unable to 'learn' from either of my later sets' remotes.
At best, these should be called (honestly) 'multi-brand.'
you need to main menu go to feature then format set to 4.3 or just play withit and you will see the whole words set one way and half set the other way.
