You have hooked up the telephone mute wire by mistake.

The brown wire should not be hooked to anything in the vehicle.
If it gets a 12V signal - it thinks there is an incoming call, and mutes.
Double check the Brown wire is terminated.

DXZ555MP Problem
I'm sorry to say, but you damaged the radios power supply. You blew out a capacitor or a solid state device. These radios cannot take even an instant reversal of power, as it takes micro seconds to blow something solid state out. This radio, you will probably have to replace. Good Luck

Car stereo receiver
Maybe the owners manual would help. It says you can adjust the sensitivity of the AUX input through a menu. It sounds like the AUX sensitivity is just set to max. Look for the 'to change other settings' chapter, instructions are in there.
