Question about Carrier 36KCARMS Air Conditioner
It is likely the capacitor for the fan motor. Unless you are comfortable working with 240v this is an issue for a qualified service tech. If you are comfortable with it, replacing the capacitor is fairly simple, you can probably obtain one from most electrical supply houses. It would be the smaller of the two capacitors contained within the exterior unit, the larger one is for the compressor motor.
