for something like the GOPHONE there is a number you need to call then follow the prompts. you will be prompted to enter the activation code and the IMEI code witch you should find next to or under the battery if you dont hav the instructions you probably dont have the activation phone #. As the batteries have been changed, you will need to reprogramme the remote, like you did when you bought it.

if your trying to use it on a 1996 vehicle, then the attari computer controlling your engine isn't reprogrammable, i found the same problem with my 1996 f150, however if you are a true race enthusiast and want the ability to change your vehicles programing at will then you need a newer computer already programed with your engines defaults, this is tricky business, because if you dont know what your doing, then you will be stuck with a dead ride and a really expensive cost, also if the defaults in fuel, timming, and other needs arent within spec you'll ruin your engine over the long term

Swapping hard drives between two LE1600's will give you an Windows activation fault. Serial numbers in the Intel CPU's don't match.

If you call in to try and get another activation off your COA the code you read them will result in them just wanting to put their hand in your pocket for more money.

If you use Partition Magic (or equivalent) to copy the original hard disk onto a new one (possibly larger) it won't result in a Windows activation fault. Since yours has failed, you'll need another workaround.

Another option would be to buy a used one on EBay. I've bought them for less than $200.

The process is further complicated by the fact that Motion used different drives during the production process. Some connect with a ZIF connector and others with mini IDE.

Probably best to see what you have before anything else. I understand the mini IDE are no longer made.
