Windows 7 os corrupted due to virus in HP mini notebook.not able to open any application even notepad.what is the solution?

The only solution would be to reinstall your Windows OS.
You can use a recovery disk if you have one, or you can install a fresh copy of Windows, using a Windows 7 installation CD.
Make sure you back up all your data to an external drive before reinstalling Windows to avoid loss of your files and data

My os dumped some internal memory and I did a system restore but it says that its croupt. I would like to know how to repair this.

You can repair it by reinstalling your OS. Insert bootable Operating System Installer disc. Press any key to boot from it.  After accepting the OS agreement, on the next page it will look for previous installation of your OS and there will be a menu for choosing installing a fresh copy of the operating system and repairing your OS. Choose repairing OS if your files had been corrupted or damaged.

Hal.dll missing or corrupt.

I would recommend you buy a copy of Quick Boot ($9.99 at ebay shipping included), and use it to first to run a diagnostic on your drive since this is a quick and easy test, then use it to wipe the drive, then use it to reformat your drive, then reinstall your OS. If all this doesn't work, then it may be that you have a boot sector virus, which can render just about any system dead in the water. Good luck.
